FAQs
Our Philosophy & Ingredients
Is Louise Franklyn Skincare natural? Our formulas are plant-forward and intentionally designed. We use botanical actives, extracts, and oils proven to nourish the skin, along with clinical ingredients like peptides and stabilized vitamin C that elevate results. We believe in safe science and nature in balance—because natural doesn’t always mean gentle, and synthetic doesn’t always mean harmful. Each ingredient is chosen with intention and blended for harmony.
What does “clean beauty” mean for your company? To us, clean beauty means creating skincare that is mindfully formulated. Our products are:
- Free from known harmful ingredients.
- Rooted in botanical actives.
- Supported by science-backed efficacy. We prioritize safe, non-toxic formulations, and transparent labeling.
Are natural products better than synthetic ones? Not always. What matters is how the ingredient performs on your skin. At Louise Franklyn Skincare, we combine the purity of nature with the precision of science, selecting ingredients that are safe, stable, and beneficial, whether they are plant-based or lab-refined.
What’s the difference between clean and clinical skincare? You don’t have to choose. We blend clean, skin-nurturing ingredients with clinically validated actives—like peptides, stabilized vitamin C, and botanical stem cells—creating formulas that feel luxurious and perform beautifully.
Do you use any harmful ingredients? No. Our formulas are free from parabens, phthalates, synthetic dyes, harsh sulfates (like SLS/SLES), formaldehyde-releasing preservatives, mineral oil, and drying alcohols. We use only ingredients that meet high global safety standards.
Are your products vegan and cruelty-free? Yes. Our products are cruelty-free and many are vegan, with the exception of formulas that may contain beeswax or honey derivatives (always clearly noted). We do not test on animals.
Are your products safe for sensitive skin? Yes. Our formulations are crafted to support even delicate, reactive skin with barrier-repairing, calming, and anti-inflammatory ingredients. However, as with all skincare, we recommend patch testing before use.
Do your products contain fragrance? Some of our products include aromatic essential oils or hydrosols—not synthetic fragrance. We keep cleansing and exfoliating steps fragrance-free so even the most sensitive skin types can enjoy the full line with confidence.
Sustainability & Sourcing
How do you ensure the ethical sourcing of ingredients? We carefully vet each of our suppliers to ensure they meet our standards for ethics, sustainability, and traceability. We prioritize ingredients that are sustainably harvested, fair trade certified, and organically grown or wild-harvested. Our commitment extends to the people, communities, and ecosystems behind every ingredient.
What is your packaging philosophy? Our packaging is selected to protect active ingredients and maintain freshness. We use UV-protective glass and recyclable materials wherever possible to preserve the integrity of your skincare and reduce environmental impact.
Where are your products made? Our products are formulated and produced in the USA in FDA-registered, GMP-certified labs that specialize in clean, professional-grade skincare. Each batch is made in small runs to ensure freshness and potency.
Ritual & Routine
Do I need to use the full routine or just one product? You can absolutely start with one product—but your skin will benefit most from a ritual approach. Our products are designed to work synergistically, layering hydration, antioxidants, and nourishment.
How many times a day should I cleanse my skin? We recommend cleansing twice daily—morning and night—to remove oils, sweat, makeup, and pollutants. Consistent cleansing supports skin clarity and hydration.
How many times a week should I exfoliate? 2–4 times a week works for most skin types. Sensitive or dry skin: 1–2x. Normal/combination: 2–3x. Oily/congested: up to 4x. Always follow with hydration.
When should I spritz my face with toner or mist? Immediately after cleansing—on damp skin. It rebalances hydration, supports active ingredient absorption, and sets the tone for your ritual. You can also mist before serum, after makeup, or during the day.
How should I apply my serum and cream—dab or massage? Press or pat serums into damp skin. Warm creams between your fingers and apply in upward strokes from the center outward. The way you apply matters—intentional touch is part of the ritual.
Product Timing & Use
When do I use Regen C Serum? Use in the morning after cleansing and misting. Regen C brightens, firms, and protects with THD Vitamin C, saffron stem cells, and Neo Squalene.
When do I use Phyto Elixir? Use at night after misting. This omega-rich oil-serum supports collagen, repair, and nourishment. Press 3–4 drops into damp skin.
When should I apply Nutri C Cream? Nutri C is ideal for daytime to brighten and protect, but can be used at night too. Apply after serum, before SPF or oil. (Not Available yet... Coming soon!)
When should I use a face mask? 1–3 times a week, depending on skin needs. Use hydrating masks 2–3x/week, and brightening or clay-based masks 1–2x. Always apply after cleansing and misting.
Hero Ingredients & Concerns
What do saffron stem cells do for the skin? They stimulate collagen, reduce inflammation, and even skin tone. Found in Regen C, they are ideal for restoring radiance and resilience.
What does turmeric do? Turmeric soothes inflammation, fades discoloration, and supports clarity. We use it in seed oil and extract form.
What does Japanese green tea do? A calming antioxidant that neutralizes environmental stress, soothes irritation, and balances oil.
What does pomegranate do for the skin? Rich in antioxidants and ellagic acid, pomegranate protects, firms, and brightens. In Regen C, it enhances glow and strengthens the skin.
How do I prevent blackheads? Cleanse consistently, exfoliate gently, and use ingredients like green tea or niacinamide to keep pores clear. Stay hydrated and avoid heavy products.
Why do I get breakouts around my mouth and chin? Often hormonal or digestion-related. We suggest gentle cleansing, non-comedogenic actives, and calming botanicals.
How can I shrink my pores? You can’t shrink them permanently, but you can refine their appearance with regular cleansing, exfoliation, hydration, and barrier support.
